Liz Norton, Director
Liz Norton is a documentary filmmaker and former nonprofit founder/executive director.
She started her career as a researcher for Common Cause, and then was a White House communications staffer during the first Clinton Administration. In that role, Liz served as a link between the president, the press and the public, with a focus on crime and drug policy.
In 1996, Liz became a television producer, primarily for public policy programs that appeared for national broadcast on PBS. These include Fred Friendly Seminars and MTV News.
Liz founded Stone Soup Films in 2008, which, with the help of over 1200 industry volunteers, produced and donated over 150 short promotional documentaries to worthy organizations in Washington DC. While there, she directed and produced Breakthrough, a feature documentary on the efforts of three public schools to change their curriculum to better meet the needs of at-risk youth.
She started Holding Ground Media in 2021.
